Our Mission
CitizenVault is founded on the principle that individuals should have ultimate control over their personal data and digital identity. We are building an ecosystem to empower users against the surveillance economy, making the exercise of data rights simple, automatic, and effective.
The Challenge: Reclaiming Control
In today's digital world, personal data is constantly collected and often exploited without clear consent or easy recourse. Exercising your legal rights (like deletion under GDPR) is burdensome and often ignored by companies. We believe this needs to change.
Our Approach: Automation & Empowerment
We're tackling this challenge in phases. Our journey begins with CitizenGuard (currently in Beta), a browser extension designed to automatically find companies holding your data and send deletion/access requests on your behalf, while logging compliance.
This foundation will grow into the full CitizenVault ecosystem, aiming to offer deeper data control, proactive defense, secure digital identity management, scaled collective action for accountability, and eventually, user-controlled data value exchange.

A message from Christian Kemp:
My background in Economics and Maths trained me to see systems – how they work, how value flows, and crucially, where imbalances lie. Observing the digital landscape, I saw a profound imbalance: our personal data, the very essence of our online selves, had become a commodity traded, often without our true consent or control. This wasn't just a technical problem; it felt like a fundamental erosion of individual autonomy and fairness in the digital age.
I believe that digital sovereignty isn't a luxury you should have to fight complex battles for; it should be a baseline right. CitizenVault was born from this conviction – a commitment to build the tools necessary to rebalance the scales. We aim to make understanding your digital footprint, asserting your rights effectively, and ultimately reclaiming ownership of your digital life not just possible, but simple and automatic.
